Director of First-Year Experience and Curriculum
Joining Guttman Community College represents an exciting new beginning and a journey of self-discovery. To prepare for success in their transition to college, all incoming first-year students are required to complete the Bridge Program in order to enroll in classes for the upcoming semester.
During Bridge, students are introduced to Guttman’s academic expectations while practicing the strategies and study skills needed to meet them. Participants explore their strengths and challenges as learners, practice academic and professional goal-setting, and gain an understanding of the resources available at the College.
Bridge is also an opportunity to meet and work with Guttman faculty, fellow classmates, and staff, such as the advisor – Student Success Advocate – who provides guidance and support throughout the entire First-Year Experience. Overall, the Program is designed for students to become immersed in the Guttman community.
