Safe Zone Resources
The Ali Forney Center mission is to protect LBGTQ youths from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools to live independently.
Apicha Community Health Center promises to always provide compassionate, comprehensive and culturally competent healthcare and wellness services to underserved and vulnerable people living in New York City. FIERCE (Fabulous Independent Educated Radicals for Community Empowerment) is a membership-based organization building the leadership and power of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth of color in New York City. We develop politically conscious leaders who are invested in improving ourselves and our communities through youth-led campaigns, leadership development programs, and cultural expression through arts and media.
The Gay and Lesbian Dominican Empowerment Organization (GALDE) seeks to increase the political visibility of the Dominican LGBT community and to provide HIV/health awareness, educational and cultural activities through a safe space and essential human services to empower, educate and support the community.
Identity House provides a unique service as a peer-counseling center for the community offering a walk-in counseling and referral center as well as weekly groups where people can talk about issues related to sexual identity.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (The Center) fosters a welcoming environment where everyone is celebrated for who they are. It is the heart and home of the NYC’s LGBT community, providing programs for health, wellness, and community connection.
The LGBTQ Guide of Services and Resources is the most comprehensive directory of LGBTQ resources and services in New York City. This Guide is intended to help individuals better understand the resources available, from hundreds of community organizations and health care facilities to counseling and support groups, recreational clubs, and much more.
New York Area Bisexual Network facilitates the development of a cohesive bisexual community in the New York area that will promote visibility, protect, and empower the community and their families.
The New York Anti-Violence Project empowers LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.
OutPOCPAC is on-partisan, political club of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirit (LGBTTS) People of Color. It is committed to raising the awareness of elected officials and candidates for public office around issues of primary importance to our communities, as well as to increasing the number of elected officials from our communities.
Project Reach is a youth and adult collaboration: a multiracial, multi-gender, grassroots, anti-discrimination, youth organizing center with a clear mission and commitment to challenging the destruction among, of, and between New York City’s disparate youth communities. Puerto Rican Initiative to Develop Empowerment (P.R.I.D.E) mission is to address and mitigate systemic social issues, including racism, homophobia and HIV/AIDS, that debilitate LGBTQ communities. We accomplish this through education, advocacy, media and outreach, increasing the visibility of our communities, and providing a safe haven for non-judgmental discussion and expression.
SALGA-NYC serves to promote awareness, acceptance, empowerment, and safe inclusive spaces for people of all sexual and gender identities, who trace their heritage to South Asia or who identify as South Asian. Their mission is to enable community members to establish cultural visibility and take a stand against oppression and discrimination in all its forms.
Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund’s mission is to end discrimination and achieve equality for transgender people, particularly those in our most vulnerable communities. Our strategies include path breaking trans rights cases and “friend of the court” briefs regarding the key issues of employment, health care, education and public accommodations. Their Name Change Project provides free legal name change services to community members.

American Civil Liberties Union works to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can live openly without discrimination and enjoy equal rights, personal autonomy, and freedom of expression and association.
Campus Pride is a national organization that develops the necessary resources, programs and services for student leaders and campus organizations working to create a campus environment safe for LGBTQ students.
GSA Network is a next-generation LGBTQ racial and gender justice organization that empowers and trains queer, trans and allied youth leaders to advocate, organize, and mobilize an intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities.

The Human Rights Campaign, a national advocacy organization, seeks to improve the lives of LGBTQ Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring that families are treated equally under the law, and increasing public support for equality through advocacy, education, and outreach programs.
The LGBT National Help Center provides vital peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity. They operate three national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline, the LGBT National Youth Talkline, and the SAGE LGBT Elder Hotline and a private one-to-one online chat, that helps with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and a lot more.
National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, legislation, policy, and public education.
