Mission

The Center for Career Preparation and Partnerships (CCPP) leads Guttman’s innovative and proactive model for building industry partnerships, embedding equitable and inclusive career preparation into the curriculum and co-curriculum, and ensuring students successfully transfer to baccalaureate-granting institutions and plan for economic advancement and fulfilling careers.

Vision

The Center for Career Preparation and Partnerships will offer dynamic, equitable and inclusive professional exploration, career planning, and career competency development centered in the curriculum and co-curriculum to empower students to pursue a fulfilling professional path. CCPP will engage in innovative partnership development to involve industry representatives as co-educators in informing and invigorating the Guttman academic experience.

Patricia Jean

Patricia Jean
Interim Director, CCPP

Patricia leads the Center for Career Preparation and Partnerships at GCC. Born and raised in New York City, she is proud to work for CUNY. “My hope is to create career-aligned opportunities for Guttman students. Bringing professionals to the students via career panels, internships, and networking opportunities will keep our students engaged and excited to pursue their career goals.” Patricia has over ten years of experience in higher education. She strives to help students build upon their skills and become the best candidates for future employers in their life after Guttman. 

LaShonna Turner

LaShonna Turner 
Interim Associate Director, CCPP

LaShonna graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and a focus in Psychology.  She is a native New Yorker, whose primary goal is to enhance student success.  She has worked in the education system for over 6 years. She thrives in educational environments by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. LaShonna’s mantra is ” To grow we must learn, to succeed we must collaborate, and to find peace we must focus on balance”. LaShonna is excited to be a part of such an engaging program within the Guttman community.

Shaina Davis

Shaina Davis
Internship Manager, CCPP

Shaina (pronounced Shay-na) Davis was born and raised in The Bronx. She began her college and professional career at her alma mater, Virginia State University, where she was the Performing Arts Coordinator for the Department of Student Activities. While obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, Shaina joined the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Since returning to New York, she has contributed to Guttman’s Division of Academic Affairs as a College/Research Assistant and transitioned to CCPP to help create future opportunities for Guttman students. Outside of her responsibilities at Guttman, Ms. Davis dedicates her time to screenwriting, producing for film, and embedding herself into the many art forms around New York City.

Tasreen Rahman
Internship Coordinator, CCPP

Tasreen Rahman, a Guttman alumnus, currently serves as the Internship Coordinator for the Center for Career Preparation and Partnerships office. During her time at Guttman, she pursued a major in Urban Studies and successfully graduated in 2018. Throughout her academic journey, Tasreen actively participated in the Chase Cohort Program in 2017 and engaged in research in Belize while studying abroad with Global Guttman. Her passion for exploration and learning led her to be selected for the CUNY Research Scholars Program, where she once again studied in Belize.

Following her graduation from Guttman, Tasreen pursued a Bachelor of Science degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she discovered her interest in Human Services and Community Justice. She completed her degree in this field in 2021. After gaining valuable experience as a Career Preparation assistant, Tasreen eventually transitioned to her current role as an Internship Coordinator.

Marcy Pham
Office Manager, CCPP

Marcy Pham graduated from Middlesex Community College with an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice-CUNY. Marcy’s future career goal is to work in law enforcement, specifically as a crime analyst in the FBI, solving cybercrimes. Aside from her academic goals, Marcy is committed to ensuring that all students have access to mental health services. Marcy’s passion is to support others in achieving their goals by building confidence and creating action plans, and she is excited to help Guttman students on their career journeys.
