Computer Access and Technology

Computers, Laptops, and Internet

Library patrons may use one of 52 desktop computers or check out a laptop provided by the IT Help Desk.

Desktop computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no time limit on computer use.

To check out a laptop, students should request one from the Circulation Desk. They will be asked to leave their valid Guttman ID at the Circulation Desk while they use the laptop.

Both desktop computers and laptops are connected to the College’s wireless Internet network.

Copies, Scans, and Printing

Library patrons may copy, scan, and/or print materials on the two black and white copiers/scanners/printers available on-site. To do so, students must swipe their Guttman ID card at the machines.

Copying and printing costs $0.15 per page. Currently enrolled students have a copy/print account on their Guttman ID card with a starting balance of $15. If the funds run out, students can add money to the account using the kiosk located near the copiers. (Another $15 is added at the beginning of each semester.) Additional Equipment

Four Mediascape tables allow up to four computers (PC or Mac) to connect to the same monitor for collaborative work. This equipment is designated for the tutoring services offered on the premises. It is not available for regular use by Library patrons.

Disposable headphones are available upon request. High-quality headsets may be borrowed for use in the Library only.
